ABOUT US

WELCOME TO

Fab to be fit foundation

Here at Fab to be Fit, we are a not for profit Foundation dedicated to raising public awareness about childhood obesity in Australia. The goal is to raise as much funding as possible, which will be allocated to children suffering physical, mental & emotional disabilities as well as for those Primary schools across NSW considered as living in high density Indigenous or low socio-economic/disadvantaged schooling communities.

Compared to children in other developed nations, Australian kids are more overweight, and prone to obesity. This is especially the case with kids from poorer backgrounds. We want to change this and make things fairer. No child should ever face such disadvantages no matter their background.

Rich or poor – every child in Australia has the right to a healthy and happy life!

WHO WE ARE

OUR PURPOSE

To raise funds to advance education, and introduce specialised programs to help reduce childhood obesity across Australian schools in disadvantaged communities.

OUR AIM

The introduction of fun, structured physical activity programs to increase fitness levels and by improving the eating habits of the children who attend these schools.

YOUR PART

You can help us do this by joining our team or by donating to our cause !

OUR

mission

Our mission, which is really our approach,
is best summed up as the following:

To increase awareness of childhood obesity across Australia and the world

Through dedicated effort and work, help in the elimination of childhood obesity

Make parents, society and governments take responsibility for their part in this epidemic

To encourage children to be active from a young age and empower them with healthy and tasty food choices.

    CONCERN OVER

    Australian Children

Within the Australian scientific and health community, there is a growing concern that our children’s health and fitness is declining compared to other developed nations. What’s worse is that children from low socio-economic backgrounds are declining at twice the rate of those from more affluent backgrounds.

Research shows that children and young people from low socio-economic backgrounds are significantly more at risk at being overweight and obese. This further adds to the health and social disadvantages they face throughout the lives.
