RIDE TO LIFE is a 6hr event that will be filled with fun, laughter, great music videos to dance and ride to, a team-based competitiveness and all the trimmings of a great physical challenge.

ABOUT

RIDE TO LIFE

After two years of Covid lockdowns and ‘Working from Home’ orders applying to employers and their staff, the city of Sydney is finally opening back up for business! What better way for employers to ease staff back into the office setting than by participating in a fun day competing against other city-based employers to vie for the coveted crown of Sydney’s Fittest Employer.

The focus of this event is to promote health & wellbeing in the workplace environment.  For many, home based isolation has come with its most intimate challenges.  It is important for employers to acknowledge this and to provide a positive support network to help staff rehabilitate back into the office setting as quickly as possible.

HOW IT

will work

THE TEAMS

add remove

As an employer, you have the opportunity to register a team(s) for this physical activity fundraising event. There will be a maximum of 45 teams. Each Team can have up to (10) riders.

Companies can register a team(s) between now and the day of the event (the earlier you register, the better chance of getting a bike in a prime position).  From the date of registration, you will be able to appoint a Team Captain and up to 10 team members (in total).  The earlier you register, the more time you will have as a company/team to fundraise to help promote this fabulous charitable cause.  You will be able to create your Team Ride Strategy, choose your uniforms, create your team theme in preparation for the big day!

Note:   50% of the team must be ‘employees’ of the company. The rest (50%) can be ring-ins, expert riders, family and/or friends.

THE FUNDRAISING

add remove

Between now and event day (29th March 2023), each team will be expected to do some additional fundraising for this charitable event.

The Fundraising Target for each team is $1,000 (e.g. if 10 team members, that’s only $1000 each, over the 7 month period leading up to this event), but please don’t stop there!  The more you raise (as individuals and as a team) the more you are helping this great charitable cause (and the opportunity to earn some fabulous incentives and prizes)

ON THE DAY

add remove

When teams arrive (from 9:00am), the forecourt of St Mary’s Cathedral will be set up with 45 incredible Body-Bike spin bikes, one for each of the 45 corporate teams that have registered for the event.  A RIDE TO LIFE staff member will show teams to their allocated bikes, where they will be able to set up and prepare for the event.

Teams will start their ride at 10:00am, interchanging riders (based on their strategic ride plan) throughout the event. The team that completes the most kilometres at the end of the 6hrs (finishing at 4:00pm) will be crowned the overall winner.

During this 6hr event, teams will ride to 100 (6hrs) of the best party music videos of the 80s & 90s through to present day up on a large, elevated LED screen at the front of the venue.  We expect lots of singing and dancing from teams throughout the challenge.

Some of Sydney’s finest SPIN Instructors will be up on stage throughout the day to energise and motivate the teams, with ‘real-time’ data from each of the spin bikes being projected up on the LED screen at the top of each hour to show how each team is performing.

Our MC will also be walking around the forecourt to interview the teams and provide support and encourage for all.

We are also expecting Channel 7 and Channel Nine ‘News at 6’ film crews to be present during the day to cover this ‘good news’ story – so make sure you bring your best and most enthusiastic attitude – you just might be riding and singing to millions!
